About Us
- The Rainbow Africa Operations centre is based in Livingstone Zambia close to the beautiful Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River, which flows on downstream through 80 km. of gorges towards Lake Kariba, and which also forms the border with Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana.
- Since 1996 when the Charity was established significant development has taken place in areas which include: -
Centre Activity
- Progressive growth of the centre facilities at Livingstone, as well as the new site at Muzoka, now enables Rainbow Africa and its staff of 80 to offer on site accommodation for up to 50 for training, conferences and visiting works teams: catering for upwards of 300 meals a day: education for over 500 children and health care from the Mwenda Medical Centre.

Medical Care
- Mwenda Medical Centre with its staff of 7 has established an outstanding reputation for high quality health care.
- Outreach clinics serve five remote rural locations each week.
- Periodically Rainbow Africa sponsors a specialist ear surgeon from the USA who operates over a two weekperiod at the main Livingstone hospital.
- Over recent years eye care clinics staffed by Vision Aid
Overseas volunteers from the UK, and organised by Rainbow Africa, have provided eye tests and have dispensed spectacles at remote rural locations over a two-week period.

Grannies and Orphans
- Rainbow Africa currently supports 15 grannies and their orphaned (usually through Aids) grandchildren, providing food, educational support, health care and, in several cases,
accomodation.
Maramba Old Peoples Home
- Regular visits are made to provide food support to this extremely needy community of 40 or so destitute old people. Rainbow Help Teams have improved the environment through building maintenance and painting.
Food Relief
- During years of poor rainfall potential widespread famine is the inevitable result. In 2002 and again in 2005 Rainbow Africa provided regular assistance to over 2000 villagers, also supplying seed and fertilizer for the following year's crops.
Community Development & Outreach
- Over the last ten years Church centres and thriving congregations have been established in many remote villages including Malime,
Siamasimbi, Zwanga, Siamukoma, Mahululo, Chunga and Muzoka.
- Active outreach by three full-time workers supported by trained local people continues to grow this work and spread the Christian message.
Small Business Ventures
- Rainbow Africa enables and encourages the establishment of small business ventures through the provision of initial start up capital and practical advice/guidance.
